Spring Decorated Living Room with Vintage Cottage Style
Enjoy a Spring home tour in this beautifully decorated living and dining room. Vintage vignettes exude cottage Style charm in every detail.

Spring has sprung in our home, and there’s bunnies hopping all around! I’ve been a busy beaver pulling all the Spring things out and styling all the fresh and pretty. It’s so wonderful to enjoy pastels again! Enjoy touring our Spring Decorated Living Room with Vintage Cottage Style (and some of the dining room, too).
I’ve joined a bunch of my favorite friends to share our Spring decorated homes to inspire you! Thanks so much to Cindy, from County Road 407 for organizing all the creativity. If you’re visiting from WM Design House, I’m sure you loved Wendy’s gorgeous Spring flowers throughout her home; everything she does is beautiful. I’ll have links to all the rest of the home tours at the end; enjoy!
Get ready for lots of pictures, full of vintage finds! As I look through the pics, it all seems a little…much. But then again, that’s kind of what cottage style is about. A home filled with collected treasures, styled imperfectly for a lived-in, cozy look.
Welcome to our cottage-styled, antique fake farmhouse, overflowing with vintage finds, upcycled and repurposed DIY projects, decorated for Easter!

Easter Decorated Mantel
Easter is my favorite holiday, because we are celebrating Christ’s resurrection from the grave! It is the most important aspect of our faith, because he has gifted us with salvation through Him (if we chose to receive it). This year I wanted the heart of our home, the mantel, to be focused on our Good Shepherd and His sheep.
The centerpiece is an antique framed print my parents had in their home of a flock of sheep. I love the subtle sepia tones. Old family bibles line the center to speak of our heritage of faith. I love meaningful decorating that reflects who you are. I made the hand painted folk sheep art last year. (“Charming DIY Sheep Folk Art How To”)
It seemed fitting to surround the sheep art with grass. These are two of the frames we made for Happy Girl’s wedding. (“Garden Party Wedding: Prep and DIY Projects”) A beautiful antique framed print of Jesus as the Shepherd is in the middle, too. And my growing collection of sheep. Luckily, I got two Putz sheep in a manger scene I got at a church sale last summer; I’m still on the hunt for more;)
I’ve been collecting old verse plaques, too. Their pretty coloring is perfect to tuck into the Easter decor, and to pair with my church collection. I love the pastel stained glass windows on this little plastic church when I plug it in.
{“Upcycled Old Garden Fencing Cloche How To”}
This is the first Spring I get to decorate inside my curbside find cupboards. We love having them on either side of the fireplace. They fit the house so well, they look original. (see “Trash to Treasure: Reviving Salvaged Built Ins”)
THESE new floral green curtains with the tasseled edge gave the whole room a fresh look. They look so pretty when the sun comes through them in the morning.
Spring Decorated Living Room
The rest of the room got decorated for Spring, too. I pulled out scalloped green pillow covers (find them HERE) and pastel vintage quilts to give the sofas color. Vintage pastel oval plates hang on architectural windows. A simple tulip wreath and eggs tucked in shredded old book pages add texture.
Coffee Table with Spring Decor
The coffee table features three thrifted lanterns, filled with Spring things. Every Monday on Instagram, I join a few friends for a Thrifted vs. Styled challenge; it’s so much fun! You can see me putting it all together HERE. (and follow me while you’re there;)
The lockers (“9 Great Reasons to Include Vintage Lockers in Your Home”) are featuring my globe collection. The cute little yellow chair was a $5 church sale find. I love it’s curvy shape and pretty upholstery. Beside them, a little vintage vignette creates a pretty moment of interest.
Rechargeable lamps are my new best friends. I get them in pairs. They can light up any spot that doesn’t have electricity. They have several dimming options for great flexibility, too…all with the touch of your finger. Find my rechargeable Lamps HERE.
My Church Themed Vignette
At the bottom of our stairway, I’ve created a church vignette. My mom’s hand painted church art hangs on arched windows. A vintage needlepoint church frame adds to the pretty Spring colors. Bird nests add texture, along with cute folk art wooden churches. It’s a fun way to make a boring spot pretty.
See “Vintage Style Home Decor Ideas: A Church Themed Collection” for more ideas.
Spring Decor in the Dining Room
Spring decor continues into the dining room. Last week I shared all about cabbage ware and it’s history. Then I created a display in the dining room hutch. You can see it all in, “Collecting Cabbage Ware for a Spring Hutch Display”.
Tomorrow I will be sharing all the details of the Easter centerpiece and table setting. This is just a sneak peak;)
Mr. Fix-it and I sing in our church’s chapel choir, and enjoy it so much. Music and singing to the Lord has been a big part of our heritage. I thought it would be fun to give our antique piano a touch of Easter special, too.
Last Spring when I was curbside junking, I scooped up a whole bag full of vintage church hymnals. “Christ the Lord is Risen Today” is featured on the stand, and many of the others are seen here, too. Old musical instruments and DIY upcycled vintage art are spruced up with Spring foliage for a pretty display.
{“Violin Instrument Case Repurpose”}
The last corner of the dining room is another vintage vignette moment to enjoy a little fresh green. I love having fresh plants around the house, and I’ve done pretty well keeping them alive through the winter this year.
That’s the tour! The kitchen is still getting spruced up for Spring, but is currently maple syrup making central. We tap our maple trees and are on the 4th boil of the season this year! The trees have been dripping sap like crazy.
