Vintage Lover’s Christmas Bedroom Tour
Get vintage-inspired decorating ideas and inspiration on this Christmas decorated bedroom tour.
Our house is finally all decorated for Christmas! It’s so fun to enjoy the twinkle and special beauty all around. One of the places I enjoy decorating the most for the season is our bedroom. I can decorate this room in a totally different theme than the rest of the house, which allows my creativity to run wild. This year this room is all about comfort and the vintage things I love! Welcome to a Vintage Lover’s Christmas Bedroom Tour.

Before we get started, I want to clarify that there is an apostrophe in the title of this post. Although we could fall under the category of “vintage” lovers, since we’ve been married so long! But the decorating in our bedroom is about my love of vintage…not our age;) Mr. Fix-it’s comment was, “I feel like I’m sleeping in a Christmas tree”. Yep, for a couple short weeks, he is!
Decorate for Christmas with the Vintage Collections you Love
Like many this year, I’ve had to set up an office in our bedroom. Even more reason to make it pretty for the holidays; I’m in here for many hours a day! What better place to enjoy some of my favorite collections? Here are some of my favorites I added to our Christmas decorated bedroom:
- wheels
- scales
- clocks
- typewriters
- cameras
- suitcases
- ladder
- architectural pieces
- old mirror frames
Once you add some Christmas lights, greenery and some extra prettiness, all of these everyday vintage collections turn into Christmas decor!
Repurposed Vintage Junk Projects as Christmas Bedroom Decor
It’s so fun to enjoy some of the repurposed vintage junk projects we’ve made through the years and decorate them for Christmas. My “DIY Repurposed Mirror Frame with Vintage Tin” got treated to a green wreath and stenciled DIY garland I made years ago. I love how it looks with green foliage on our pretty soft yellow wallpaper.
Our “DIY Junk Styled Tiered Tray” got filled with winter garden-y textures. Pinecones, birch candles, mini topiary trees, and birds create a pretty still life. A thrifted cashmere scarf with all the room’s themed colors tops off the cozy scene.
Inexpensive Mini Trees Give Big Impact
This year my 20+ old tall, skinny alpine trees went to the burn pile. They were losing needles like crazy and smelled dusty from being stored in the attic. Instead, I filled a shopping cart with inexpensive mini trees at walmart. My intent was for each kiddo to get a tree for their room, like we’ve done since they were born. But the 2 big boys said no-go, and only wanted to decorate their rooms with lights. No problem; we’ll just have a couple more trees in our bedroom!
I filled the 3 little trees with garden-inspired goodness and winter sparkle; kind of a winter garden theme. Burlap and rustic nests combine with glittery glass and metallic accents for that junky, pretty look I love.
A friend was clearing out some old things and sent a couple vintage handcrafted felt pieces to me. Their gold, green, and white color scheme fit in perfectly. I usually am not a tree skirt type of person, but I made an exception for this cutie!
Sentimental Blankets for a Cozy Christmas Bedroom
My maternal Grandma was the one who taught me many creative skills when I was young. She is also where my love of thrifty old things comes from. She could repurpose and revitalize anything, from fabric to food. When going through a lot of family things this year, I took home two of her treasured blankets. This knitted green afghan with daisies, and a beautiful log cabin quilt she sewed from old wool clothes. I treasure them, and love enjoying them in our bedroom.
(yes, you saw this mirror frame chalkboard on our mantle last year “Christmas Mantel with Bottle Brush Trees”)
Each post on our bed got treated to a spray of greenery, along with a green and black gingham ribbon bow. The ribbon coordinated so nicely with the new ready-made pillow covers I added handcrafted details to {“How to Easily Give Purchased Pillow Covers Custom Charm”}.

Lora, I just love your vintage style and the way you use your treasures. That tree skirt is adorable, and I love the vignette with your grandma’s afghan on the chair next to the tree. Merry Christmas!
You’re so sweet, Rita; thank you! Always fun to see the finds of other vintage lovers:)
So pretty. I love that your log cabin quilt has red centers. I read that long ago, quilts were hung on the line outside. The red center square was meant to let escaping slaves know that it was safe to stop at that house.
Thank you for that wonderful tidbit of history, Jeannie! I think I remember my Grandma telling me that years ago when she was making this quilt, but I had forgotten. She knew a lot of history of old quilts; totally why she enjoyed making them, along with getting to use all the beautiful fabrics.
Such a fun and happy bedroom. I would enjoy being in there all day. Each nook and cranny is creatively decorated with such adorable goodies. Love that wall paper too. Tell your friend I’ll give her my address if she wants to clear anything else out and send me a vintage felt piece! I’ll even pay for shipping! 😉 Merry Christmas
Thanks, Cindy! Yes, I love when friends call and tell me they’ve got some old things to send my way;) I’m all about free vintage treasures!

Thanks, Marie! If you’ve got to work in your bedroom, it might as well be pretty and festive for the season, right? Maybe someday I’ll have a real office I can decorate;)
Lora you have inherited your creativity from your mom and grandmother for sure! But you have taken it to a new level with your decorating ideas. I so enjoy seeing your beautiful home decorated for each season. Christmas knocks it out of the park! Blessings to you and family 🌲

Your Christmas decor is such vintage fun, but I want to tell you how much I love that amazing wool Log Cabin quilt. It’s so perfect for Christmas. How wonderful that you were able to inherit those pieces from your Grandmother and appreciate them so much. Your wallpaper and lovely green slipper chair are perfectly bedroomy vintage. What a cozy comfortable retreat! Hope you’re having a wonderful Christmas season Lora!
