Very Vintage Christmas Decor at Night Tour
Enjoy our living room all decorated for Christmas at night, full of vintage and Shiny Brites!
Christmas Day is almost here! Are you ready? The house is decorated, the gifts are wrapped, the groceries fill the frig and the baking is still going on! Bonus? We’ve got a winter storm arriving today, so we’ll get a white Christmas, just in time! Today’s pictures will finish up showing you around our Christmas decorated home, and I thought it would be fun to capture the magic at night (even though I don’t have the most high powered lens to do so;) It’s so hard to go to bed when the house is all twinkly! Enjoy this Very Vintage Christmas Decor at Night Tour of our cozy living room!
Very Vintage Christmas Decor at Night Tour
My very favorite (and most popular) project of the season was our “DIY Repurposed Candlesticks with Sheet Metal Shades”.
I wanted to showcase them on the mantel and highlight all their pretty colors by hanging vintage Shiny Brite ornaments behind them. The best way to do it was with my favorite vintage green bedspring. Because we repainted the walls and ceiling this year and installed crown molding, I definitely wanted the focus to be on our high ceilings. The mantel arrangement accomplished it perfectly!
It just makes me smile:)
Obviously I don’t light these candles often, but I did just for you!
To wish you a very Merry Christmas, and thank you for faithfully reading!
The sheet metal shades came in handy when I set the Christmas table {“A Christmas Tablescape with Vintage Tree Stands”}. We definitely need to make more of these; I had to steal some from the mantel for the table! I love how the candlelight shines out of the embossed metal and throws shadows on the ceiling.
After living with bare walls for months, I happily had Mr. Fix-it hang all kinds of heavy architectural pieces back on the walls. I had so much fun adding Christmas decor to them!
To balance the business of the mantel and add some green, the end tables on either side are simply dressed in trees with fairy lights. Some are on vintage glass cake plates, one in a wonderful old wood box and two in galvanized buckets; all the textures mixed together make a rich display, while still being quiet.
The old clock and primitive wood box were great finds from my “Curbside Junking Vintage Finds, Best Ever” spring junking days. Would you like to see a post where I share where some of the pieces ended up in our house and what I did to them? Will do that in the new year!
Our coffee table {“From Vintage Roof Rack to Cool Coffee Table”} is simply decorated with a vintage sled {“How to Refresh Vintage Sleds”}. Half of an old toolbox is filled with books and vintage glass light shades. Fresh greens from the yard, along with pinecones and a red berry strand finish off the classic, simple look. I love how the shades glow with candles inside at night.
I have so enjoyed having fun, graphic pillows around the house for the season {“How to Easily Give Purchased Pillow Covers Custom Charm”}. I will definitely be adding new, seasonal inexpensive pillow covers to my Amazon list. They are such a fun way to switch to a new season, and I loved adding simple embellishments to them.
The tree is dressed in a “I’m dreaming of a White Christmas” theme, along with the (not done yet) bannister. Snowflakes, snowballs, wood slices and more Shiny Brite ornaments seem to have a circular theme. An old galvanized bucket is my favorite way to hold the real tree.
It’s so satisfying to close out a very challenging year being surrounded by beauty. It reminds me of the good things in life, and that all things can be reclaimed and renewed through the simple gift of a baby, born for all mankind.
Thanks for joining me on this Very Vintage Christmas Decor at Night Tour!
