Woodland Inspired Christmas Hutch Decor with Vintage Milk Glass
This woodland inspired hutch decor with milk glass will give you plenty of ideas to create your own Christmas cabinet display with Eclectic style.
Who doesn’t love milk glass? It is pretty much the perfect vintage collection. It can be readily found inexpensively in endless shapes and styles. I’ve been amassing my collection for years and decided this was the year it needed to be featured in my dining room hutch for Christmas. If you love it too, I hope you’ll get many ideas from my Woodland Inspired Christmas Hutch Decor with Vintage Milk Glass.
Today I’m joining my Lifestyle of Love friends to share our love of collections. These ladies are all about vintage, antique, repurposed and farmhouse and you’re going to love peeking into their lovely homes. Be sure to visit each of them and find out about their collections, too; links are at the end.

Milk Glass Display Ideas
My milk glass collection is quite varied; I have many different patterns from different eras. If your collection is large and you want to enjoy all the different textures and shapes, stacking is a great option. In “10 Pretty Ways to Decorate with Vintage Milk Glass” I share even more ways you can enjoy your collection in your home.
Displaying milk glass at eye level, like in this hutch, is a great way to enjoy all the different patterns and textures. Hobnail, grape clusters and trellis patterns can all be enjoyed up close. I recently picked up the pretty large vase on the right at a church sale; I love the pretty details!
You can also add other white dishes to your display. I included several vintage ironstone plates to add a creamier tone of white. The relief pattern adds another texture, too.
Woodland Inspired China Cabinet Display
To give the white dishes a woodland vibe, I incorporated a lot of rustic, natural fillers. Pinecones, sticks and evergreens fill different vessels and are stuck here and there. Fiberfill stuffing creates a winter scene. Decorative fillers turn the vignette into a seasonal display. Find more ideas in “35+ Decorative Bowl Filler Ideas for Beautiful (& easy) Winter and Christmas Decor“.
A subtle color scheme of whites, rustic brown and evergreens keep this display neutral. But the variety of textures make it anything but boring.
Rustic Deer Collection for Woodland Style
To embrace the woodland inspired style, I started a new collection! Yep…I guess I have a new collection of deer now;) I had a couple of small figurines, but once this look started developing in my head, I came across a couple more while vintage shopping. And then there was this bucket of deer sheds in a bucket at the antique mall. Before I knew it, another collection had been born! (I think it’s a disease;)
Adding woodland animals to your milk glass hutch decor gives it a rustic style which gives a more eclectic vibe to the pretty glassware.
When I share the coordinating table setting next week, each place setting will feature a cute little deer. I just love their little sweet faces. (Find mini deer HERE)
Top of Hutch Decor
In “7 Ideas for Decorating the Tops of Armoires, Bookcases (or any tall furniture)”, I shared the decor possibilities you can enjoy for the top of the hutch. You can have so much fun creating an extended display way up high!
I continued the subtle, rustic textures with an old wooden bucket, an antique wood box, more milk glass vessels and a couple stoneware crocks. Mini evergreen trees were tucked in with Christmas lights. It’s so pretty to see the lights reflect against the beadboard ceiling at night. Shabby old books and a vintage clock add texture and history, too.
Vary Your Lighting
To get that winter nights twinkle, have a variety of lighting in your display. Battery powered lighting options abound right now and they look so pretty flickering from every corner of your vignette. Wax pinecone faux candles have a warm glow and are so pretty. (Find wax pinecone candles HERE). Faceted mini plastic candles have several dimming options as well as a few mounting options. They are my new favorite. (Find mini candle lights HERE).
I love being able to have a flickering glow safely in cupboards like this; it adds so much atmosphere!
Merry Christmas Printable
To top off this fun hutch display, I just had to create a coordinating printable art that featured deer! I had bought a framed art piece at a vintage shop that inspired this look and decided to create a similar-looking piece I could share with you all! All of my free printables are available to my Insiders. You can find out more and sign up HERE.
Woodland Inspired Christmas Hutch Decor with Vintage Milk Glass Collection
Isn’t it fun to decorate a whole display with a collection? Milk glass is the chameleon of decorating. It can be used anytime of year with any seasonal colors you want. Last summer I styled a pretty table right in the garden with zinnas in full bloom. You can see the gorgeous scene in “Summer Garden Party Ideas with Vintage Milk Glass”.

Hi Lora- No doubt Rachel from The Antiqued Journey will love this hutch filled with milk glass! (She loves milk glass!) I also love how you used it in the hutch. The little deer you incorporated are so cute. Wishing you and your family Happy Holidays.

So glad you were inspired, Sarah!
Laura your milk glass display is perfect. Love the woodland theme. Great job. I read every post and being originally from MN I so appreciate your blog. I am an interior designer in Omaha NE and I too have a blog. I would love for you to check it out. Thank you for doing what you do.
Lora this is beautiful. Your collection of milk glass is beyond amazing. I love all the organic touches of course and the deer are perfect. Wonderful styling my friend. It’s always a pleasure to stop by here. Enjoy the season! XO- MaryJo
I found so much inspiration from your hutch today and I have a bit of milk glass envy. I also love the vintage deer scattered throughout and even the little antlers hanging on the top. You always display things with such eye-catching precision! You are so talented. Thank you for joining us today. Your collection is amazing.
I think you can solve the milk glass envy quite easily if you do a little thrifting or vintage shopping, Cindy. You love white; you should totally have a collection!
Love your woodland theme, those deer are so cute. Thanks and Merry Christmas
Thanks, Marlene! Merry Christmas to you, too!
I LOVE this, Lora!!
Your milk glass collection is so beautiful and you have so many amazing pieces. I love it at Christmas especially, too…it looks so pretty with red and green 🙂 Thanks for sharing your hutch all styled for the season! It looks amazing!
I know you’re a milk glass lover, too, Rachel, and think there’s many more out there. Hoping everyone will enjoy the ideas!
I should have known that Rachel had already seen this post!!
Yep!
Lora, I always love seeing your hutch decorated, and especially for the seasons. Your milkglass collection is perfect for Christmas. Of course I’m loving your adorable deer collection, and now want to add to mine! Hope you’re having a wonderful Christmas Season. I always love “Hopping” with you, your vintage vignettes are awe inspiring.
I so appreciate your sweet words, Debra; thank you! I’m still having so much fun decorating that new-to-me hutch; it’s the first place I switch up for the seasons:)
Every time I join these hops and look at your beautiful collections it makes me wish we lived closer so we could go shopping together, Lora! I love all of your milk glass pieces and how you layered in the greenery and the new deer collection with the mini lights too. It feels so warm and inviting and the perfect way to celebrate the season. Sending you lots of hugs for a happy and healthy Christmas season, CoCo
It would be so fun to shop together, CoCo! Maybe even an estate sale;) Merry Christmas to you, friend! Always enjoy joining you on hops, too=)
I too have a “diease” in collecting things. I have a milk glass collection, a snowman collection and ceramic houses or any wood and metal houses. I also collect chicken and cow decor for my kitchen. Until I wrote all of this down I did not know how much stuff I collect. My daughter says I’m a hoader but I tell her I’m a collector. LOL
Tell her if you start collecting McDonalds coffee cups, you’ll be a hoarder, but until then you’re just a collector;) I just love displays that have similar groupings of things rather than a whole bunch of random stuff together. Thanks for sharing your collections!
