Fall Bedroom Decor Inspiration
Often seasonal decor inspiration strikes when I thrift a vintage find. I scored a pretty dusty rose coverlet at a church sale for $4. I had also recently picked up a rose and plum colored berry wreath. They both reminded me of pretty garden flowers that turn rose in the early Fall (Autumn Joy Sedum and Limelight Hydrangeas). I loved the idea of using the dusty rose colored decor with Fall golds and oranges.
Here was my real life “mood board” that got me started:

Start with a Garden Floral Arrangement
I started by arranging a pretty Fall garden fresh floral in my great grandma’s pink Lu Ray pitcher. These flowers will dry and look just as pretty weeks from now. I used more of my hydrangeas and sedum flowers throughout the room and hallway for a natural look. This was also the color palette I wanted to achieve. Mixing real, preserved and faux foliage together is a great combo.

The rest of the top of my green painted vintage dresser was treated to more cottage style accessories, thrifted from church sales. The antique brass lamp was another Grandma’s; I treasure it. The beautiful oak mirror was a third Grandma’s…yes, I have a lot of pieces that were passed down, because I wanted them!

Fall Foliage for a Pretty Bedroom
Add in all the foliage textures in the Fall; the more the merrier! The thrifted berry wreath was hung on our white blanket cupboard. I tucked in dried corn husks to fill it out. At a recent church sale I picked up packages of old satin blanket binding. The rosy persimmon color made perfect bows to add here and there throughout the room. So much pretty for .25!

Display Little Moments
To add special touches to your decor, make little moments of pretty. A slouchy sweater pumpkin sits atop two pillow ticking pillows. A satin ribbon bow and Fall leaves turn a dress form into art. A vintage knit purse is hung on a green doorknob with corn husks tucked in. Simple little decor moments that make your space feel special.

A Display Shelf for Pretty Decor
Often bedrooms don’t have much display space. This simple chippy curbside shelf and repurposed mirror give me a fun spot for seasonal display. A corn husk wreath and persimmon colored sunflowers add texture to the vintage ceiling tin. Maize colored pottery pieces, old books and a clock collection are displayed with Fall foliage. Battery powered candles add the ambiance for dark nights.

Fall Decorated Bedroom
The “new” blanket looks so pretty on the bed, surrounded by dusty rose colored accessories and Fall colors. And since it’s wool inside, it’s the perfect way to cozy up when the Autumn temps get cool.

Fall Decorated Hallway with Vintage Pottery Display
Right outside our bedroom door is a dresser/ glass cupboard combo we built in. Our bedroom door used to be here, but we moved it when we remodeled the room. My grandma had found the glass cupboard at a garage sale. I found the dresser base on the curb. We married them together and built them into the back side of our walk in closet.

For Fall I filled it with (some;) of my pottery collection. Garden clippings and autumn foliage create a beautiful texture-rich display that I love to walk by each day.

I love all the pretty fall touches that you have added for the season!! Absolutely beautiful!!!
Lora, your coverlet is so beautiful, what a find! It’s perfect for setting a color scheme. LOVE LOVE the dusty rose/lavender theme running throughout your bedroom. Your wallpaper is so cozy comfy and it’s a wonderful backdrop for your vintage pieces. You always inspire me with your vintage treasures and styling!
Lora, your fall bedroom is so gorgeous! I don’t think I’ve ever used plum for Fall before, but now I want to! All the details are so charming and romantic! Also, love the hydrangea wreath you added to your hutch, such a great idea!
Yes, love making easy hydrangea wreaths; need to make a couple more for different spots this year. Plum/rose is such a wonderful color to coordinate with Fall oranges and browns, and there is so much foliage to use, too.
I love love this tour! Especially that wool lined quilt and the built in dresser in the hallway. I definitely sense your recent wedding influenced your color choices, such a fresh and charming pallet.
Yes, probably still in the wedding romantic mood, Pam;) Glad you enjoyed it all!
These little vintage touches fill my heart with happiness Lora! I love the pattern of your inspiration piece. It reminds me of the designs I used to see on vintage flour sacks. Lovely fall displays all around my friend!
Thanks, Michelle!
Lora, I LOVE that you built in the chest of drawers and the upper buffet! That was a brilliant idea and it gives so much style to your hallway. Great display space, too! Love the cornhusks and bright pops of orange. 🙂 I love your bedroom with the sweet yellow pillowcovers and the sweater pumpkin stack, the shelf with its fall display.
I miss a couple of shelves we used to have that I sold at one of our garage sales when we were moving out of our last California house. They were good shelves but we just had no room or a way to really wrap them for storage. I do think of asking Charles to make us some once in a while. It’d be nice for more display in the dining room.
Happy fall to you and enjoy your beautiful bedroom! I loved the pinks of the “mood board.” My kinda colors! 😉
Hugs,
Barb 🙂
Thanks so much, Barb! Yes, it’s so nice to have shelves to create pretty displays:)
Only you can decorate an entire vintage-looking room from a $4 church sale find and make it look magnificent! I never think to check the linens and dang it, I need to remember that! I am also blown away by the hutch. Every time I visit your blog or see something you posted on IG, it makes me wish I had more storage space. That would be heaven! Thank you for joining us. pinned
So glad you enjoyed it; thanks! I MAKE storage space-buy a piece of furniture or a trunk so I can stash all my pretty stuff;)
Oh, so pretty, Lora! I love your color combo you chose from the inspiration coverlet. That glass hutch/dresser full of your pottery collection is life! Happy Autumn!
Thanks Rita; so glad you enjoyed it!
Lora, your bedroom looks so cozy and I adore the colors you’ve used. The heirloom pieces are so special. And the way you have the hutch styled is perfection! Happy fall!
Thanks, Angie! Nice to have one pretty Fall space to enjoy. Now on to the rest of the house…
It all looks so pretty, love the colors you used and nothing is better than using things we’ve received from our grandmothers. I loved the coverlet you found for the bed. Thanks for the inspiration.
Thanks, Marlene. Yes, I treasure the family heirlooms;)
LOVE it all, Lora!! What a pretty mood board to jumpstart your decorating…what an amazing idea! All your pottery combined with the hydrangeas and other vintage pretties looks so lovely. Hope you are well…happy fall, friend!
Thanks, Rachel! If we can just get some cooler weather now, right?
Lora
Your tour is so charming. I love all the vintage fabrics and all your thrifted finds. Your home is so creative! Great tour.
Thanks, Rachel!
Such a fun way to celebrate the season, Lora. I’ve never thought about adding fall decor to a bedroom like this but I love the way it all came together. The colors are beautiful! Plus, you know I adore all your heirloom treasures. And don’t even get me started on the hydrangeas. Be still my heart – they’re gorgeous! Sending you lots of hugs for an amazing Fall, CoCo
Thank you, CoCo! Know you’re a fellow pink lover;)
