Wow! Wish I lived in your neck of the woods! Can’t believe what some people actually put at the curb. One man’s trash I guess. Good haul.

    1. Lora Bloomquist says:

      Yep, it’s a treasure hunter’s dream!

  2. Lora,
All these finds are just amazing. We don’t see this on roadsides anymore. Have you thought about a post that shows the haul and then what you did with each item? You could have so many posts like that for a series. I think people would love seeing something like that. Even if it’s just the cleaned-up version. Great post as always. Love doing these together.

Thanks, Rachel:) Yes, I have done a couple of those posts and my readers have loved them. Maybe I should think up a cute series title to group them under; good idea!

  3. It is amazing to me to see all that great stuff that people throw away. So glad they do, so we can see how you beautify them. Beautiful sofa for Happy Girl. Thanks for sharing, now to see what you do with each piece.

    1. Lora Bloomquist says:

Yes, so glad it doesn’t end up in a landfill somewhere!

  4. Love EVERYTHING and keep at it. You where given the gift of making things that are “wrong” Right! You can bless so many others with your finds and I can’t wait to see the results. Love the elderly neighbor helping load and HE recognized your Heart! My fav is the beautiful Round Wicker Table.

    1. Lora Bloomquist says:

Yes, it’s a great adventure all around:) And the wicker table is a gem:)

  5. Thanks for taking the time to share all these photos! So fun to see your treasures! Favorites are that green wicker cart, the hoard of wash boards and what a score with the Heywood Wakefield chair! You’re a great “picker”! Please share the finished products.

Yes, lots of fun finds; can’t wait to get to them:)

Oh how I wish we had a “clean out” day here where I live! You found some awesome vintage pieces! I have three antique booths and it’s getting harder to find “affordable” or “free” items to fill them here in the south! Good job! Can’t to see what you do with the “gold” junk! 😁

    1. Lora Bloomquist says:

      Glad you enjoyed it!

  7. Gosh the things people first of all have, and second of all just throw away!!! It makes me SO SAD!! Thanks for saving all. the. things. You did good this year, Lora! Ours is coming up first weekend of May…maybe I’ll go out and see what I can find 🙂

    1. Lora Bloomquist says:

I’m tempted to go out again; we’ll see if I can get a couple pieces moved out first;)

  8. You are so lucky, Lora, to live in an area that allows people to put their unwanted stuff by the side of the road. You got some wonderful things.
I can’t wait to see what you do with them.

    1. Lora Bloomquist says:

      So glad you enjoyed it!

  9. Hi Lora. What great finds. I saw you have that cool metal contraption that used to be a mattress back in the day. I scooped one of those up too last summer and it’s been sitting by the barn since. I got it for the cool springs to use in projects. I’m wondering if that’s what you saw too. What would be the easiest way to remove each one I’m wondering. 🙂

I’ve got a full size one like this hanging on the side of my garage as art. These thicker ones are harder to take apart. We’ve disassembled the thinner ones and I sold many. They look cute in the Spring with nests and eggs. Mr. Fix-it took them apart with a pliers and a wire snip. I scrubbed them and gave them a spray of poly to make the rust beautiful. Good luck!

  10. Hi Lora, wow, and you have so much to thrift for now with your new booth! But can I ask, what will you do with that old, torn lampshade? You’re so creative and I’m envious of all the goodies.

    1. Lora Bloomquist says:

I rip all the fabric off the old lampshades to enjoy the skeleton. I added crepe paper flowers around the bottom and hung them for baby shower decor. I’ll sell them in my booth, because people use them in many ways. Good question!

This was my favorite by you yet!!! You scored colossally!!! So fun to see what you found. And I know exactly what you mean because my husband thinks I am insane. He begrudgingly comes along and grouses about it the whole entire time. “ Digging through peoples trash, makes you think deep” . Indeed, it does. Double decker outhouse- epic. ❤️❤️❤️

    1. Lora Bloomquist says:

So glad you enjoyed the deep and the humorous:) AI could not have written this post; we’re keeping it REAL around here:)

  12. Hi, Lora it’s too bad I don’t live close to you. I can’t believe someone threw out all those wash boards they would be going to my booth asap. Good haul on a bunch of the stuff . Can’t wait to see what you do with it.

    1. Lora Bloomquist says:

Yep-ready made collection! There was even a glass one:) I may have to keep that little green one for myself.

  13. Those are some amazing finds!!! I love the eternal lesson – that is so true!

    1. Lora Bloomquist says:

Yes, seeing those trophies just laying in a pile made me wonder about all our striving. I may write a longer “thoughts” post on that one sometime;) Thanks!
