Bedspring Shiny Brite Tree

I’ve seen this idea on Pinterest, and decided since I had just hung this perfectly patinaed crib spring on my freshly painted dining room wall, and wanted to display my Shiny Brites everywhere but the tree, I’d give it a try myself. And yes, this is the second bedspring I’ve hung in my house in the last month! The green one, that I’m using as a Card Display, is in my back entry, Here.

It was actually quite time consuming, because these ornaments are so delicate. I lose one every year. Most of the ornaments are family acquisitions, so I feel extra bad when I break one. I was able to enjoy each one’s beauty as I arranged them.

I added the greenery around the top of the bedspring, so I could add lights for night-time beauty. I’ll have to try and do a night-time house tour, (maybe after Christmas day).

At the top of the tree I placed some of the star-like ornaments.

And at the bottom, I hot glued an ornament hanger inside the opening of the tree topper to create the trunk of the tree.

I decided my theme for this Christmas is “Comfort and Joy”. I’ve shown you a lot of the “joy” part with my Map Display (here), and my Postal Sorter and Hem Maker Tree (here), hopefully I’ll have time this week to take pictures of the “Comfort” areas, where I used lots of whites and texture in my kitchen and on our main tree.

Hope you’re getting all your last week Christmas projects and baking done! I’ve got some creative gifts I’ve got to finish, some cookies to bake with the kiddos, and some Swedish sausage to make with Mr. Fix-it, plus those last minute gifts to buy and wrap!

I’m so thankful for the “Comfort and Joy” that God blessed us with in 2016! Let’s think of the great gift of the Babe as we go through this last week of Christmas preparations.

I have been waiting for the perfect project and this is it!!!! I would love u to come and share this at my party What to do Weekends Party too. Please. I love this so much. Oh, and merry Christmas to you and your family. Linda http://www.craftsalamode.com/2016/12/what-to-do-weekends-party-merry.html

    1. Thanks, Linda! You get the best-ever comment award! I’m so excited you have an excuse to not throw two perfectly rusty bedsprings away-buck normal decorating sense! And I will certainly look up your link party to inspire more junk lovers:) Merry Christmas!

  3. Oh shoot, the bedspring I put in the garden (that tripled our cucumber production)…sigh… can’t be this wonderful IDEA. So cute—LOVE the vintage look use for this, grins and thanks, Sandi

    1. Sandi,
Well, if you got triple the amount of home grown cucumbers that you hopefully turned into pickles, I’d say the functionality definitely was better than my pure aesthetics! Thanks for reading & the great comment!
