Weekly Rambles
Weekly Rambles is a summary of the week, plus favorite decor and creative inspiration from around the web.
The rest of the country has gotten a taste of a good, old Minnesota winter! But I know not everyone is as prepared as we are with shovels, insulation and snowplows. Hopefully this week, we’ll all get a taste of Spring! Wouldn’t that be nice? Here are my random thoughts for this week’s Weekly Rambles.

~I’m craving green, just like I always do after Valentine’s is over. Time to pull out my RA Fox Prints and go buy some new houseplants! Yes, it’s my favorite color, but this time of year when we’ll still be looking at white outside the window for at least another month, I need green like oxygen. Breath it in, surround myself with it. Mental wellness energy! Maybe later this week I’ll do a post devoted to everything green!
~We had family fun this week figuring out everyone’s Myers-Briggs MBTI personality profiles. You can find out more HERE. I’m an ISFP Adventurer, if you’re wondering. And honestly, reading through the descriptions just made us laugh; they’re so right on! We’re a family of introverts, except for Happy Girl. Thank goodness someone will push us all to be social! We’re not complaining much about the pandemic; good excuse to be our home-body selves:)
~We started watching The Chosen, a series based on the life of Christ. It’s so good; great way to prepare our hearts for Easter! We downloaded the app on our phones and then got THIS cable. It makes your phone screen transport to the whole TV screen. Oh, technology…we are amazed. Yes, we are vintage-minded people;)
~This week I helped a family friend with space-planning, downsizing from one assisted living apartment to another. And I realized I’ve helped with this kind of down-sizing quite a bit through the years. I could probably write a book with all the tips I’ve learned. Would anyone be interested in an ebook giving tips for downsizing to a care facility? It really requires a balance of psychology and design to make these transitions for loved ones.
~This week on the blog, I shared my “Easiest Tip for Pretty Seasonal Decorating“, and it was fun to hear how many of you use it, too! A trip to Homegoods this week ensured warmer nights (which you can see on my IG, Here). But when in Homegoods, I started having one of those “I could use this, and this, and this…” kind of moments and knew I needed to get out fast! Seasonal changes can have this effect on me; very dangerous to the pocketbook!
~Spring curbside junking is right around the corner in April. I had such good luck last year {“Curbside Junking Vintage Finds, Best Ever”}, my porch is still bursting with potential. But if I’m going to pick anything new up this Spring, I need to make room! Time to sell some things, I think. If you’re feeling the need to clear out some vintage, check out all the wisdom my friend Diana from @AdirondackGirl at Heart has in her courses, HERE. She has a lot of experience selling vintage on many platforms. And she’s a great teacher!
This Week’s Inspiration from around the Web
A group of blogging friends started a Thrifting with the Gals weekly & monthly series. Check it out HERE.
Found THIS creative husband and wife home DIY team on IG and love their creativity and humor (you’ve got to watch their stories in the round circles;)
I’m obsessed with THIS beautiful room. If we add on to our home, I’d love for it to look like this! (Time to start a Pinterest board;)
THIS was a great roundup of beautiful wall collages.
To “force” some Spring indoors, it’s about time for THIS.
Or get started on your flowers and veggies by doing THIS.
I’ve been craving some good old baked carbs, and THIS recipe sounds wonderful.
THIS succulent centerpiece would fill my craving for green right now!
Wouldn’t it be fun to make THIS wreath with old calico feedsack/floursack fabrics?
For those of us who treasure old family photos and documents, etc, THIS was inspiring.
Have a great weekend, friends!
What a great round-up of inspiration Lora! Thank you so much for including me this week! I am thrilled to be starting my seeds indoors soon! I hope you are having an amazing weekend! Enjoy your day! xoxoxo
Your welcome, Stacy! Enjoy the smell of soil:)
I loved these rambles there so much fun, I also love your pictures by A. Fox those are so beautiful. I have looked but, nothing yet, I wander if you can buy prints some where, anyway have a great Sunday, snow is on the ground here in Oklahoma too!
I’m sure there are Fox prints on Ebay or Etsy; who knows if they call them that. I’ll have to take a look and maybe pop some links on that post!
