  1. Love these challenges and appreciate them so much.
I must say, however, that I like your version of this Spring Decor better than the original, but I have that set of Quails she used, so they will definitely come out for whatever I decide to do.
I remember your Oil Lamp filled with buttons from last year’s challenge. Mine is filled with smooth stones and colored glass. Hmm, I will find a way to work that in again this year too.
My surface is a 20’ Craftsman mantle/ bookcase that spans one side of my open concept living room. I have the two square windows above the mantle on each side and instead of a fireplace in the center, it is our TV. Fabulous focus wall for me (and for hubby). Mostly books, but some shelves are decor that gets changed seasonally, and it’s definitely time!

Your home sounds absolutely beautiful, Paulette! Have fun decorating!

      1. I spent Sunday afternoon playing with all my spring decor, bringing in cuttings from my Gold Mop Cypress and Boxwood to mix in with grapevine and moss balls, succulents, natural looking eggs. Wow what a difference that made and all I have to do is freshen the cuttings up every few weeks.
I do have a white, head-planter, but tucking in a few white ceramic bunnies into the mix made more sense for me (we have lots of rabbits in our area) and just looked better.
And because everything looks so natural and speaks of Spring I can easily wait until May when I’ll want to create a vintage patriotic look for Memorial Day and summer.
I hope you post another challenge for Summer!

  2. Thank you so much for the great design ideas! We all need a little wake up call for Spring!

    1. Lora Bloomquist says:

      Glad you enjoyed them, Barbara!

  3. Amelia Jackson says:

Such a stunning setup, I’m especially in love with how many textures you managed to pull in! We just had our floors refinished and seeing my house practically empty has given me all the motivation in the world to run with the clean slate and decorate a bit differently, even though it’s still ahead of spring. Thank you for all the inspo, I’ll definitely be referencing your post as I look for items to add to my rooms!

    1. Lora Bloomquist says:

Have fun decorating your refreshed space!

  4. Everytime I see these photos it is your green throw blanket that catches my eye. Is that a recent purchase or something I would not be able to find?

    1. Lora Bloomquist says:

It’s a long ago thrift store find:( I should see if I could find one similar for folks; thanks for the idea.

    1. Lora Bloomquist says:

      Thanks, Christy!

  8. Lora, I love how you interpreted the inspiration photo! The pops of blue and green, the botanical elements, and the bird-related items are all perfect. I adore that fluffy colorful pillow too!

    1. Lora Bloomquist says:

I love the blues and greens together this time of year…well most times of the year;) This was a great challenge to get me started!

  9. Nothing will make me break my resolution to cut back on my junkin’ and hoardin’ like a visit to your amazing collected and curated home! After seeing all your fun vintage treasures, how could I resist headed back out on the junkin’ trail as soon as the weather breaks? Oh my goodness all the green is amazing. Loving that green glass lamp, throw, and all the plants!

    1. Lora Bloomquist says:

Yes, you won’t get much try-to-cut-back encouragement here, Amber;) I love switching everything up often! And can always find more old things to love:)

  10. Wow, that looks so nice Lora! You make it look so easy :o)

    Tania

    1. Lora Bloomquist says:

      Thanks, Tania:)

  11. Your version of our inspiration picture is so pretty. I always enjoy seeing how you use vintage for your seasonal decor.

    1. Lora Bloomquist says:

Thank you, Paula! I’m still taking the winter away and cleaning, too.

  12. Lora, what a wonderful collection of elements you have gathered for this spring transition. Love all the interesting little places to notice. Happy Spring.

    1. Lora Bloomquist says:

Yes, it was fun to pull this little collection together from around the house. So nice to not see winter anymore (at least inside;)

  13. Lora, wow!!! All the texture makes your end table vignette really look good! I’m bummed as I’d love to share a bunch of your photographs but only the one comes up. I do love the bird theme and the bird print really stand out.

We were back up over 70 degrees today after a week ago in the 20’s, so…

    Happy early spring!
    Hugs,
    Barb 🙂

    1. Lora Bloomquist says:

Thanks, Barb! Click on the Pinterest button at the top of the post or on the side. They should all come up.

  14. Margie Clements says:

Love all the ideas! But really love the idea of putting buttons in the bottom of the oil lamp! Thanks for sharing!

    1. Lora Bloomquist says:

Glad you got some new ideas, Margie! The buttons do give that extra cuteness to those old lamps:) Thanks!

  15. You are all ready for spring Lora! Everything looks so amazing and I love every last detail. That oil lamp with the buttons, all the textures, that pillow…it’s all so beautiful. thanks for sharing all your tips with us.

    1. Lora Bloomquist says:

All ready in one corner, Kim;) But it’s inspiring me to spread it everywhere!

  16. Marlene Stephenson says:

I love that, All To Myself, and your other pictures. You always do a great job of decorating your house, Your mantel and side table are dressed up for spring. That pillow with the flowers on it is so pretty, did you embroidery it?

    1. Lora Bloomquist says:

Just picked up that pillow at Homegoods the other day, Marlene; I loved the texture and colors! And yes, those pretty vintage frames with the interesting little sayings always speak to me:)

  17. Oh my golly I wanted to plop myself down on that sofa, read a book and never leave. Being surrounded by all of your goodies and those plants (even fake ones) seems so peaceful and inviting. Your table is styled so perfectly! I love it all. BTW, we had so many Robins drop in the other day. The entire street was covered by them. I quickly filled up my bird feeders and water fountain thinking they were resting a while before headed north again. I loved having them around and I enjoy all the birds talking or singing to each other in the mornings. Thanks for joining in. Bring on the spring! Pinned

    1. Lora Bloomquist says:

Oh, you had robins? We probably won’t see them for at least another month; guess they’ll take the slow road up here:) I wish you could come over and plop down on our sofa, but then you’d see there’s still a pile of winter decor on the other side of the room:( But that’s the life of a blogger, right? Thanks for picking an awesome pic as inspiration, once again, Cindy!

  18. Love how you added your own style and touch to the inspiration pic. You’ve used so many of the same types of elements in your display and still created a unique version. Love the button in the lantern and those owls are perfect.

    1. Lora Bloomquist says:

Thanks, Marty! Yes, I had fun with this one, indeed; I just love these decorating challenges!

  19. Shelly Torola says:

You knocked it outta the park this time Lora!
And that pillow…….😍. This is definitely the time of
year when winter’s charms are fading fast & spring seems sooo far away. Your new look is just perfect!

    1. Lora Bloomquist says:

Aw, thanks, Shelly:) Yes, this time of year I need my tank filled up with plenty of greens, blues and yellows to make it until we see it outside! Hopefully sooner this year??

  20. Gorgeous spring time look. I love that pillow…I will look for a similar. In the spring we change our kitchen slipcovered chairs to a pretty swedish blue green, would match so well.

    1. Lora Bloomquist says:

That sounds beautiful, Jillian! I have some vintage 60’s curtains somewhere with this same look, but I figured it was easier to just buy a pillow than dig them out and sew something;)

  21. Lora, I love your interpretation of the inspiration photo! So many of the same elements, yet definitely your own spin on it! And your brass owls are beautiful! What a great addition!

I’d love it if you want to share your spring table at my link party–Sundays on Silverado–which is open now. 🌷

    Happy Spring,
Niky @ The House on Silverado

    1. Lora Bloomquist says:

Thanks for the invite, Niky! Just popped over and joined:) Thanks for your sweet compliments!

  22. Lora, I always come away so inspired by you! I adore that you have filled your oil lamp with buttons! My heart is beating faster over that gorgeous pillow from HomeGoods. A truly delightful vignette!

    1. Lora Bloomquist says:

You’re so sweet, Laura:) I recently brought home that oil lamp from our family cabin and it had the perfect color buttons already in it! I liked adding the vintage touch to emulate the glass sconces on the inspo pic. And that pillow; I love it, too! I was looking for a lighter color one with white flowers, but came home with this beauty instead. You can always have one more pretty pillow, right?

    1. Lora Bloomquist says:

Thanks, Rachel! Yes, love these challenges:)

  23. Barbara Warner says:

Love your use of botanicals, real sprigs/twigs, and elements of nature to incorporate Spring into your home. Very uplifting and inspirational!

    1. Lora Bloomquist says:

So glad you enjoyed it, Barbara! Now to continue it on through the rest of the house:)

  24. Hi Lora, I love love love the layers! And, the fern in the oversized basket! I need to hit the GW shop to find a basket like that! It looks so cozy! love this one! laura

    1. Lora Bloomquist says:

Got this big basket in the planter section at Walmart, Laura. I worry about smells in baskets at GW;) I love using ferns this time of year!

  25. Wow, where do I start? I love the lush Spring vibes you created Lora! That pillow, all the greenery, that thrifted owl! So many fun elements, my eye was dancing from one to the other!! So inspiring!! Pinned!

    1. Lora Bloomquist says:

My eyes just need to see green this time of year when we’re still looking at white:( Thanks, Cindy!

  26. Looks like you are all ready for spring Lora! Love how you decorated in layers with color and textures for a beautiful spring effect. I spotted that little brass mister on the mantel and I’m now on the hunt for one. Enjoyed your post so much and now going back to pin!

    1. Lora Bloomquist says:

Thanks, Michelle! Yes, that little brass mister is a newbie, but I already forgot where I found him;) Love these challenges!
