Every season is wreath season if you ask me! You can never have too many wreaths, whether they be totally unique, hand-crafted ones or purchased from the store. I love creating wreaths from out-of-the-ordinary materials like garden hoses, croquet mallet heads and thread spools But what excites me the most is coming up with creative ways to hang these beauties! In order to swap them up often, it helps to place them on a foundation. Here are 10+ Brilliant Places to Hang a Wreath.

Hang a Wreath on a Large Accessory
Large accessories can be taken to a new level of artistry by adding a wreath. A birdcage, a vintage fan, or even a suitcase will look wonderful with the addition of a small to medium-sized wreath.
Hang a Wreath on Shutters
For classic style, hang a wreath on two shutters. Indoors or out, hanging a wreath on any type of architectural piece is always a win.
Hang a Wreath Around Great Graphics
Vintage graphics are cool. You can really play them up by hanging a wreath around them. Adding some 3D texture always brings a display up a notch!
Hang a Wreath in a Frame
You can hang a wreath in a bare frame for classic style, or you can add detail by filling the frame with texture. Vintage ceiling tin, chicken wire, chipboard, pegboard…the options are endless. Just frame some of it and hang your wreath over the top. Instant wall art!
{see “Vintage Ceiling Tin Ideas” for more great ways to use this favorite.}
Hang a Wreath on Any Type of Spring
For an airier display, hang a wreath on any type of spring. I love the display flexibility of a crib spring or a bedspring on the wall, but an old coil chair seat spring makes a perfect wreath foundation, also!
Hang a Wreath on Anything with Squares
There’s just something about hanging a circle shape in front of a bunch of squares. Old floor grates, banks of cubbies and card catalog-type pieces look amazing with the addition of a wreath. You can see here how fun it is to add other accessories too, and create a whole vignette.
Hang a Wreath on Cupboard Doors
Whether it’s your kitchen cupboards or a piece of furniture, the knobs are a perfect place to add a wreath. The circle shape adds interest to doors that would otherwise have just been functional.

Hang a Wreath on Any Type of Old Door
Old doors bring great architecture to a space. It doesn’t matter if it’s made of character-rich wood or patinaed metal, it’s the perfect canvas for a wreath. Hanging a wreath in front of an old door that is still holding onto it’s vintage latches and hardware is as pretty as a magazine cover!

Hang a Wreath on a Mirror
Because of it’s reflective qualities, a wreath is beautiful hanging on a mirror. Here, an old medicine cabinet becomes a perfect accessory with a suction hook holding a cute wreath. Adding a flickering real or fake candle in front of this scene would add even more beauty.
You can also double up your wreaths, like this feather one in front of a felt foliage version.
Hang a Wreath on a Chair or Bench
I’ve always thought it’s charming to hang a wreath on the back of a dining chair for a special party. But how about hanging a wreath on the front of a chair you don’t need to sit in? It becomes a study in still life when you hang a wreath an a chair with great character. My vintage lawn chairs always get treated to wreaths, so they can be a visual treat on the porch in the cold months!
Hang a Wreath on a Basket
Talk about a textural buffet! Wire on a wreath to the front of a basket for instant beauty and seasonal interest.
Hang a Wreath on Lockers
Industrial finds like lockers are the perfect place to hang a wreath. The vents on the fronts make it easy to attach a seasonal wreath. And foliage adds a great texture combination.
Have you thought of even more places to hang a wreath? I hope these ideas inspire you to dig in the garage, basement, or attic for the perfect foundation for your seasonal wreath! Enjoyed the wreathes and ideas. My front door is a glass French door so most of my wreathes get hung on the hall closet door facing the glass. When I’m crafting, I often have wreathes on the bathroom and bedroom doors in the same hall! Too much. I have been enjoying my lone tobacco basket which I have NOT glued things to so I can change it with the seasons.
Yes, those tobacco baskets make a wonderful foundation for wreaths or anything! I do have to count wreaths sometimes to make sure I don’t have too many in one space;) They’re just so fun!
What a fabulous collection of wreath ideas and how to hang them. My favorite is the fan!!!
I simply love all of your wreaths and hanging ideas!
Stunning wreaths I want them all. I like wreaths and hanging them in other places than the front door is a great idea!
Happy Fall,
Kippi
Lora, I love hanging wreaths in different places too, but you found some really creative ways to display yours! Thanks for sharing at Vintage Charm!
So many great places to display wreaths! Most I wouldn’t have thought of! Thanks for sharing!
Glad you got some new ideas, Leen!
I was saying to myself – hey, I should hang a wreath on my Wabash sign when I saw yours. Then I scrolled down and saw a total of 4 of the exact same wreaths that I have too. We really are blogging soul sisters! Great post. Pinned!
It might just be that we both shop Home Goods…just sayin’…but yes, we are soul sisters;)
Great tips and beautiful wreaths!
Thanks, Cindy!
So many cute wreaths & so many creative ways to display them – LOVE it!
I can never have too many wreaths, Maryann! Fun to come up with new ways to hang them!
So many great ideas, Lora! I’m loving the wreath on the tabletop fan. So unique! Thanks for sharing!
Glad you liked that one, Kristi!
Yep, we both love our junk. I love all of your wreaths.
Junk lovers unite, Kathy! Thanks:)
Lora, I absolutely love wreaths so I found your ideas on where to place them very useful! Just have to be creative to find places other than the front door to hang them and you have done just that! Thanks
Glad you liked it, Kim! I have to make sure I don’t have too many in a room, I like them so much;)
So many wonderful ideas, Lora…I am in LOVE with that fabric pumpkin wreath!
Thanks, Linda. I love it too; it took quite a lot of hours, since all those are handmade! Someone wanted to buy it…sure for $500;)
Those are some beautiful wreaths; I especially love the birdcage! I usually make my own but, if I buy one, I always try to buy one on Etsy. (Support those independent crafts people.) Looking forward to all the Fall Ideas Tour.
Yes, Vikki, I love to support the Makers, too! I’ve got a huge variety of wreaths (as you know;); some handcrafted, some purchased. The more the merrier!
Such unique ideas! I love the fan one!
One of my favorites, too, Lindsay!
I’ am a little embarrassed to admit that I have been a wreath ‘one-trick pony’…thanks for opening my eyes to using wreaths for more than just hanging on a door! Truly the possibilities are endless and now I am going to take my wreath game to a whole new level!
Thanks for the inspiration.
So happy to join you on this fantastic blog tour!
Hugs, Lynn
I’m singing Disney’s “A whole new world” Lynn! Have fun!
I never thought of some of these places but i love them, thank you for all these ideas, i get a little tired of having them in the same places all the time.
Yes, Marlene, you can get a whole new look with an “old” wreath by putting it in a different place!
So many amazing ideas on how to hang these beauties. The boxwood on the crib mattress and your beautiful tin square are my favorites.
Thanks, Jen! Fall is definitely a time to celebrate wreaths to the hilt!
so many fun ideas Lora. Love the one with the birdcage!
I do love my vintage birdcages, Debra! It only seemed right to gussy one up with a wreath!
Wow! I love all these ideas, but I think the one on the fan might be my favorite!
And that was a last minute addition, Amy! Glad you liked it!
Lora, first off, I so enjoyed all the beautiful wreaths you shared here and loved your creative ideas for displaying them! I can’t resist a wreath hung on an old chippy door – perfection.
You are so right, Marie! Perfect combo:)
These are adorable ideas Lora! I now have to find an old bed spring! The wreath on the old chair brings back many childhood memories. My grandmother had a chair just like that on her front porch. We would sit and talk about the old days! Great ideas!
Aw, glad it sparked a fond memory, Christina! Vintage has a way of doing that<3
Lora, These are all such great ideas. I love how you think outside of the box with your decor. Now I’m looking at my old fan and wondering where I can find a wreath to fit it! So glad you’re on the tour!
I like the “outside-of-the-box description, Angie! My hubs just thinks I’m crazy;)
Lots of great ideas Lora. I love the idea of mixing texture and vintage pieces with wreaths.
Yes, Patti! It’s a texture feast!
Wow! I just love all your wreaths and all the different ways you have them displayed. Makes me want to run out and make a few more!
Thanks, Kim! I have a hoard of handcrafted and purchased ones; the more the merrier!
Great tips on where to hang wreaths!
Thanks, Pam!
