When the weather starts to chill, I love pulling out my bin of DIY fabric pumpkins I made a few years ago {“Fabric Pumpkin How To”}. There are many other interesting DIY versions online, too!
But, having a few store-bought versions mixed in with your hand-crafted ones is a perfect combination. Whether you’re decorating your mantel, your coffee table, the buffet, or your bookshelves, some of these unique-textured versions would add a nice mix to your decor.
I did the pumpkin searching for you and came up with a great variety to choose from! I was curious to see all the different types available, too! From beautifully realistic heirloom types to rustic woven, grapevine and wood versions, there’s something for everyone here!
For a great mix, choose some large, some medium and some small in different textures than those you already have. Adding a few new pumpkins to your patch will give your decor a boost!

Aren’t they absolutely beautiful? They’re like works of art. I’m all for real pumpkins outside, but having a stash of nice faux pumpkins to use every year is my pick for inside decor. I’ll be adding some of these textural versions to my DIY fabric ones for a nice mix.
And get them early! These days empty shelves and “sold out” seems to be the norm. Early bird gets the worm! The first cool day, you’ll want to start your Fall decorating!

HI Lora, I love the pumpkins. This post gave me an idea! Happy September! xo laura in colorado
I never (well, almost never!) met a pumpkin I didn’t like. I love mixing the homemade ones in with the “storeboughts”. Mixing the colors, textures, and styles is so much fun. I love The Navage Patch’s ones made with the copper dish scrubbers. I scored some tiny ones that are waiting to be transformed for this year–maybe another garland???
So fun! I especially love the wicker ones. Can’t wait to bust out the pumpkins!
Fun post, Lora!! I love pumpkins and faux ones are so fun to use all over the house!!
They are the cornerstone of Fall decor, indeed!
I agree, I love my collection of faux pumpkins in different materials, textures, colors, and finishes! Hobby Lobby has a good variety, and also, stores like Home Goods, TJMxx/Marshall’s, and At Home are good places to look. My favorites are hammered copper finish and sweater knit. They are a great option for adding fall touches in a more subtle and interesting way, especially when orange pumpkins might not work best with your decor. Thanks for sharing!
Love all those stores, too, Vicki:)
