Weekly Rambles
Weekly Rambles is a summary of the week, plus favorite decor and creative inspiration from around the web.
Happy March! I’m so happy to be out of February; now it seems like Spring can finally come! Mr. Fix-it put our maple tree taps in this week. Hopefully the sap will start dripping like crazy with the warm temps we are having. For best conditions, it’s supposed to be below freezing at night and above freezing during the day. But it got warm pretty fast this year; we’ll see!

~My arm’s been sore. Got my first vaccine shot this week, since I’m an essential care person for my parents. Don’t know quite what I think about putting experimental stuff into my body, but am doing it for the sake of them and the other care facility residents and staff. Sometimes you just need to bite the bullet for others, right?
~Saw a cute article on eyelet this week in Country Living magazine. I’ve always loved it’s country cottage style. One of the blouses they showed reminded me of the Prairie style fashion that was popular in the late 70’s or early 80’s. I had the denim ruffled skirt and the eyelet, puffed sleeve blouse. And then the eyelet slip that stuck out from under the skirt? Am I prodding your memories yet? Isn’t it about time for all of that to come back? Maybe it is with the Boho style?
~I’ve been having so much fun with our Instagram @creativevintagedarlings group weekend share. There are so many vintage lovers on IG, and it’s fun to see everyone’s collections and creativity in displaying them! Sometimes they group their finds by color, by the alphabet, or tell a story. You can check it out at #creativevintagedarlings. Make sure to follow and join in the fun, too!
~This week on the blog I shared a bunch of green inspiration to kick off March! Some furniture makeovers, a couple DIY projects, and the green accessories I pull out this time of year. See it all in “15 Ways to Fill Your Home with the Color Green”.
~It’s supposed to be 50 and almost 60 this weekend! In MN…in March! I’m having a hard time wanting to decorate for Spring inside when I can be working on projects in the driveway. I’ve got more sanding to do on the barnwood shelves for the lockers, the cut-apart vanity side tables, and a bookshelf I got for my mom. I think I can probably paint outside even! Watch my IG stories this weekend for live video while I’m working on them (follow me HERE, then click on the circle with my face to see my projects 😉
~Have you ever heard of Floret Flower? They are a grower and seller of amazingly beautiful cut flowers. They just came out with a new book about how to grow dahlias, which I think I need to get! Their photography is gorgeous and I’ve always wanted to try dahlias. You can get one for yourself HERE. Great Mom’s day gift idea, too!

Thank you so much, Lora, for including my kitchen refresh! Here in the Canadian prairies we still have snow but our temperatures reached the double digits 10C (50F). We shoveled the deck and put a couple of chairs out to catch some much-needed rays. Winter is far from over here so too early for the deck chairs just yet. Enjoy working on your driveway today!
Yes, we’re soaking up the nicer weather, knowing we could still have a major snowstorm through April:(

Your welcome, Jennifer! Love your blog, too:)
I am getting some nice spring weather and I love it. Been getting out to do some thrift shopping and trying to make some spring curtains for my bedroom. Waiting for that first flower to make it entrance or not, in case it froze. Thanks for these rambles , lots of great ideas, have a great Sunday.
Glad you’re enjoying them, Marlene!
