Junk Bonanza has Oversized Huge Junk!
Canterbury Park, where Junk Bonanza is held, has huge soaring ceilings, and I love when the vendors go for the wow factor, building their displays as high as they can go!
Junk Bonanza is known for it’s huge, over-sized pieces. I love how the vintage galvanized metal reaches to the sky! If you’ve got the space for big accessories, you’ll have your pick of awesome, one-of-a-kind pieces here!
Vendors come from far and wide to sell at this amazing market and there’s something for every collector and decorator. It’s fun to see how different each of the booths are. Each dealer shares their favorite items and displays their wares in over-the-top creative ways, tucking in fresh foliage to pop it all.
I loved the scientific, world hunter theme this dealer came up with. No, it’s not my decorative style, but I was sure entertained by all his curious offerings! His wood card catalog and oversized clock had me drooling! I also really wanted that yellow tool caddy almost hidden under the table;)
Vintage Garden Finds
A vintage market in MN in the Spring means we are all itching to feel the garden love, and the dealers know it! Vintage lawn chairs, old tools and garden themed everything sells well to decorate those porches being opened up!
Isn’t that garden seed box graphic amazing? The price was, too;( Otherwise, it would have come home with me! And oh, all the wonderful vintage flowerpots. Can one ever have enough of them, in their beautiful array of colors?
Repurposed Recreations Galore!
Quite a few dealers featured charming fairy gardens with a mixture of vintage and repurposed finds. Suzanne Thiesfeld of Objects & Art makes the most charming little trailers and fairy houses out of vintage dollhouses. They were so cute, I just had to bring a little trailer home to enjoy on my kitchen windowsill!
Am I the only one that wants to shrink myself and explore all the miniature gardens? I’ve wanted to do that with dollhouses since I was little and I haven’t grown out of it!
Sarah Bierstedt at the Purple Pincushion always amazes me with her repurposed linens. I want everything in her booth! This year I gave into 3 flowers she had made from farm-styled feed sacks.
Last year I bought a couple necklaces, featuring vintage embroidered linens; I get so many compliments on them! Sarah’s bunting just brings a smile to my face:)
Speaking of amazing recreations, I love what The Pink Hammer created with vintage books! I maybe bought a gift from this awesome booth, and wish I could have thought up a reason to buy one for myself. Love this vintage, recreated art!
Yes, I can hear your sigh’s right through the screen;) Maps, books, and cute sayings with cool fonts? How can you go wrong? Each frame had a different theme, so they’re the perfect gift! Sister and I each bought one.
Vintage Cabin Finds
Of course, spring in MN means “folks” are opening up cabins, so there’s always plenty cabin-fare to go around. I know a lot of you love, love, love your vintage camping and cabin things. These pics are for you, friends!
Like I said, something for everyone!
These patches fit me to a “T”.
Vintage Junk + Spring = Happiness!
It just makes my heart happy to get all filled up on vintage, junky goodness, all spiffed up and displayed beautifully for spring!
Classic Vintage Junk Finds
I came home holding a couple small bags and was rather proud of myself that I held back from some very cool classic junk finds I wouldn’t mind:
Since I’m a picker at heart, I think it’ll be more fun to find these treasures in a scary basement or roadside pile. A good story to go along with your vintage find adds to it’s value in my book;)
