This simple and fresh side salad is my favorite. With only a few everyday ingredients, you can easily whip up the perfect side salad to pair with your meal.

Who else could be perfectly happy eating soup, salad and bread for every meal? Me, me! Especially in these winter months, there’s no better comfort food than a bowl of soup paired with a green salad and rustic bread. Today I’m sharing our families favorite go-to green side salad. My Favorite Simple and Fresh Side Salad

Ingredients
1/4 cup olive oil
2 Tablespoons wine vinegar
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
3 medium oranges, peeled and cut in chunks or canned mandarin orange segments
1/2 cup thinly sliced red onion
8 cups variegated torn lettuce greens
1/2 cup sliced black olives (regular canned or kalamata)

Directions
Combine oil, vinegar, salt and pepper together well. (I love a salad dressing mixer & pourer like THIS)
In a large bowl, place greens, oranges, onion, and black olives. Pour dressing over and toss. Serve immediately.
Serves 6-8.

My Favorite Side Salad
This fresh tasting green side salad can be whipped up easily with a few everyday ingredients. A favorite pairing to any meal.
Ingredients
- 1/4 olive oil
- 2 Tb wine vinegar
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 1/8 tsp pepper
- 3 medium seedless oranges, peeled and cut up or canned mandarin oranges
- 1/2 cup thinly sliced red onion (optional)
- 8 cups mixed green lettuce
- 1/2 cup sliced black olives (regular canned, or kalamata)
Instructions
- Combine dressing ingredients: oil, vinegar, salt and pepper.
- Place greens in a large bowl. Add peeled cut oranges, black olives and onions.
- Pour dressing over and toss.
- Serves 6-8.
