English Tudor Christmas Home Tour
The architectural details of this Classic English Tudor home shine in this christmas home tour, full of vintage decorating ideas.
Who loves all the architectural details of older homes? The built-ins, the woodwork, the arched openings, the brick fireplaces, the little nooks and crannies. I grew up in a beautiful English Tudor home with all the beautiful classic details. Although our home is more farmhouse styled now, my little sister lives in a home that recalls that traditional English style. This year I thought it would be fun to take a tour of her home all decorated for Christmas! Hope the old house lovers out there will enjoy this English Tudor Christmas Home Tour.

Classic English Tudor Home Style
My sister, Molly, lives in an inner city neighborhood that is filled with English Tudor Style homes. There are a few blocks that are all a different variation of the theme. Through the years the exteriors have changed to reflect the owner’s style, but I’m guessing most of them have the beautiful interiors and details that English Tudor style is known for. Her home’s details are similar to the home we grew up in. She decorates it with a wonderful mix of vintage and modern style that works for their lifestyle with little kiddos. I’m excited to share her Christmas Home Tour with you today!
Christmas Decorated Living Room, Mixing Old and New
Molly’s a thrifty shopper; she loves to find secondhand home decor on Facebook and at thrift stores. She and I are church sale buddies, too; they’re our favorite!
Her living room is decorated with a FB marketplace sectional that has a modern silhouette. She just got the pretty area rug on clearance at Homegoods and is thrilled with how it pulls the room together. Side chairs have been picked up on FB, too. The more modern look furniture gives the old house an eclectic, mix and match style with old and new.
A classic Christmas tree is adorned with family ornaments; her kiddos are little and are still making them. They’ve upgraded their brick fireplace to a gas version, so she can flip it on with a switch; so cozy for winter nights. The mantle displays a grouping of white ceramic house votives and twinkle lights that glimmer and reflect in the pretty mirror above. I couldn’t help but notice how the peaks of the house rooves mimic the gorgeous antique light fixtures. Definitely repetition of shape design look;) Notice how she used books and pedestals to vary the height of the houses to create a triangle, too. A simple evergreen garland and pinecones finishes off the classic look.
A vintage wooden crate adds wonderful character next to the beautifully embossed walls. More modern wall art gives an eclectic vibe.
An arched built in near the front door is the perfect place to collect mail and add seasonal vignettes. Notice the pretty architectural details that Tudor’s are known for.
Dining Room Decorated for Christmas
Years ago when I owned a store, Molly bought this painted hutch from one of our dealers. It’s been a fun place for her to create seasonal displays and to serve beverages and snacks through the years.
For Christmas she loves to display our maternal Grandma’s jadeite collection (yes, I am jealous she got it and not me;). She tucks in other vintage finds she’s found thrifting and gotten from family members.
The dining room chandelier is gorgeous. The same light fixtures adorn the walls of the living room, too. These are the details that make you fall in love with old homes. Notice the beautiful coved ceiling, too.
Christmas Decorated Kitchen
Molly’s kitchen has a similar eating nook that our childhood home had. She has repurposed it with a desk to keep their busy lives with littles close at hand. A light fixture my mom had hanging in our eating nook hangs in hers. I’ve got the green version that hopefully I can find a use for someday. Sorry I didn’t take more pics in here! Molly would love to remodel their kitchen someday, but it’s expensive to update old kitchens for modern use and keep their old house charm.
Holiday Bedroom Decor and Old House Details
Molly’s house has a central space where all the main floor doors open to. The doors are finished in a two toned stain and have beautiful original hardware. They don’t make doors like this anymore! The hallway features a little nook above the clothes chute (hard to get those these days, too). Molly sets battery operated pillar candles in a vintage card lampshade and sets them on a timer. She commented that our mother had the disease of needing to add a little decoration everywhere…yep, now you know where we get it from!
Molly’s bedroom is a mix of old and new, too. A new woven headboard adds a wonderful texture to the room. The wood and painted dresser was one I had done for our mom. So happy that Molly can enjoy it. Plaid bedding looks festive for the season. A vintage architectural piece above the bed gives her a flexible way to add seasonal decor.
Kid’s Room Decorated for Christmas
Molly is handing down the tradition of decorating her kid’s room for Christmas, too. From small Christmas trees to winter flannel sheets and holiday pillows, her kids can celebrate the specialness of the season in their rooms. And with those cozy dormers, how could they not enjoy their cute rooms?
I hope you enjoyed my sister’s home on this English Tudor Christmas Home Tour! It’s always fun to peek into someone else’s home, especially during the holidays, isn’t it? Molly and I definitely got passed down the decorating genes from our mom and grandma; we’re thankful for all we learned from them!

SO pretty!! old houses speak to my soul…literally…and everything in her home is so charming! Such a cozy home all decorated for the season, all down to the laundry shoot:) I enjoyed this Lora…thanks so much for sharing! Merry Christmas!
I did enjoy your sister’s home, it is a wonderful old house that she has done an excellent job of decorating for Christmas. thanks and Merry Christmas to both your families.
Thank you for composing this beautiful post, Lora! It is delightful to note every detail of Molly’s Christmas home. The cozy feel is so sweet!
Talent certainly runs deep in your family. Thank you for sharing this lovely old home so sweetly decorated. I was instantly nostalgic seeing the two crocheted bowls made from old Christmas cards. My aunt made one for my mother and she always put our Christmas cards in them which made it so easy to thumb through and read. Mom always carefully stored it and used it year to year. I was too young to appreciate the craft but boy I wish I had that bowl now.
What a pretty home! I love all the details in the Tudor. That style isn’t very common here…we are all about authentic colonials…but I adore it!!
