Join me as I make crepes for the first time! (They’re so easy) My Happy Girl approved and said it reminded her of eating crepes every night in Paris, when she was there. I haven’t seen the Eiffel Tower myself, so I’m faking it eating crepes at home this Valentine’s:)

~~You can make crepes in a frying pan, but a crepe maker is much easier and more fun. I used my mom’s old harvest gold one from years ago, but you can get a new, improved one. THIS ONE is similar to what I used.
Make the Sweet Cream Filling First
Filling Ingredients:
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup powdered sugar, sifted
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Blend cream cheese and sour cream together until smooth. Add powdered sugar and vanilla. Mix until smooth. Chill.
Next, Make the Crepe Batter
Crepe Batter Ingredients:
(this is the recipe that was on the back of my mom’s crepe maker)
- 1 1/4 cup flour
- 2 Tablespoons sugar
- pinch of salt
- 3 eggs
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 2 Tablespoons melted butter
- 1 teaspoon lemon extract (I squeezed 1/2 a fresh lemon into it instead)
Place all ingredients into a blender and mix until smooth. Chill 2 hours or overnite.
(I used my mixer and the batter was lumpy; next time I’m using a blender…tip of the day)
Now for the fun part!
Make Crepes with Crepe Maker
With an electric crepe maker, you can simply follow the instructions! (and there’s always youtube videos)
Preheat crepe maker. You may want to spray the surface with cooking spray, but wipe off most of it with a paper towel (otherwise the batter won’t stick at all…ask me how I know;)
Pour batter into the crepe maker pan/dish.
When the crepe maker is up to tempature, invert the maker and dip into the batter. Count 5 seconds. Then tip back up and let cook for 1 minute, or until you see bubbles forming under the surface.
With a non-stick spatula, lift up crepe. You don’t have to flip them over to cook the other side, but I did.
Place cooked crepes on parchment paper if you don’t want them to stick to each other. Or start filling and eating as they come off!
Assemble Delicious Dessert Crepes
Add generous amount of sweet cream filling down the middle of the crepe. Roll up. Add raspberries, blackberries, and sliced strawberries. Sift powdered sugar on for garnish. Finish off with Heath bar crumbles.

Sharing at these lovely parties:
Is that a vintage crepe pan?? I love it! I want to make crepes just so I have a reason to look for one of those pans in vintage stores! Thanks for sharing your recipe!
I guess so! It was my mom’s; maybe she got it as a wedding gift in 67? It’s harvest gold:) It’s nordic ware; probably why it’s still working well!
Lora,
This looks so delicious. Thanks for sharing with us at Charming Homes & Gardens. Look for your feature on Wednesday.
Rachel
Thanks so much for the feature, Rachel!
Lora, these look scrumptious! Thanks for sharing at Vintage Charm! Pinned!
Your welcome, Cecilia!
These look amazing, Lora! They are crepe perfection. Years ago I used to make crepes all the time and now, I would need a refresher course but yours have inspired me. I may even buy one of those crepe makers to encourage myself to get back at it. Thanks so much for sharing and for the inspiration!
They were so yummy! Yes, I need to make them more often, too:)
Lora, Can you believe I’ve never had crepes!? My mouth is watering looking at you’re delicious Desserts and I definitely want to try this recipe thank you so much for sharing.
Definitely give them a try, Michelle; just as easy as pancakes, but more special:)
I never knew there was such a thing as a crepe maker!! How cool! And extra cool that it was your mom’s and has a recipe on it! My family loves crepes! I must look into this!
You should definitely have one for your family, Kristin! It makes them easy and fun for all:)
These looks amazing! My daughter got a crepe maker for Christmas and we have just been using pancake mix. But now we are most definitely going to try your recipe! Pinned!
Yes, Kelly, whipping up the batter is so easy!
Oh my Lora, these look absolutely decadent! My mom made crepes when I was growing up, but I haven’t had them in years! Definitely pinning and trying these very soon!
Glad to bring an oldie back, Cindy! My mom did them with sour cream, brown sugar and strawberries for another yummy version.
Thanks for your delicious recipe! I am excited to give your recipe a try. I use to make them all the time, but have lost my knack. I will definitely be giving this a try.
Think I will be making them more often too, Meegan!
Oh my goodness! They all look yummy! Thanks for sharing all these recipes for Valentine’s or anytime!❤️
Your welcome!
They look so good , pinned it so I can cook some for myself on valentines day.
Good luck! I’m definitely trying some of these, too:)
Oh wow! You really had me when you said Heath bar crumbles! My favorite candy bar of all time! I have never made crepes but you are inspiring me to do so!
Yes, Heath bars have always been my favorite. Tricking myself that a couple of the crumbles is better than eating a whole bar;)
Thanks, Laura, for a great sounding recipe! I’ve made dessert crepes before but never used a sweet cream filling! I will make these soon! Sandra
It is good! I may try to put some fresh whipping cream in there next time, too:)
We have crepes a lot around here. Probably way to much. We fill ours with Nutella then fold it and add the strawberries and homemade whip cream. Your recipe for the crepes is different than mine but sounds so much better!!! Looking forward to trying your recipe. Pinned. Yum!
Well, they’re full of eggs, so must be a little healthy, right??
Your crepes look amazing! I don’t think I’ve had a crepe since I went to France in 1992. It’s high time that I change that.!
Never been to France myself, but my daughter said they ate them every night in Paris when she was there a couple years ago; brought her right back eating these:)
Yum! I love crepes but, other than in 9th grade French class, have never tried to make them. My girls love them too so I might have to invest in one of those crepe pans and make these for them the next time they’re home. Thanks for sharing your tips and recipe!
Yes, you should totally make them with your girls! My daughter and I did these together:)
