Fun Ways to Decorate with Flags
Flags can be the cherry on top of your summer decorating! Here are some fun ways to decorate with flags to expand your possibilities!
If you haven’t done it already, it’s time to get your flag on! I pulled out my small array of red, white and blue and have been sprinkling a little festive-ness around. I think the easiest way to get in the spirit is to stick flags…in everything!
Years ago I picked up a couple of packages of cheap flags from the big box store and stuck them in every single one of my outdoor flower pots. Instant cheer! I usually keep them up through the month of July because they just make me happy;)
20+ years ago I bought this old flag at a shop. For a big bolt of festivity, I clothes-pinned it to some rope on the back porch. I added my recent garage sale purchase, a $2 metal star, and the scene is all set, thanks to our freshly made Rustic Scaffolding bench {see “From Painter’s Scaffolding to Rustic Bench”}.
And there’s just something about using old pop bottles that seems so Americana summer to me. Adding some flags to the pop bottles and lining them up as if they’re in a patriotic parade is simple and easy. Add some freshly picked daisies and other garden flowers, and your decorating is all done!
Some old quilt bunting came in handy, too;)
And last but not least…I added a couple of flags to the back door:
Hope you’re having fun with your Fourth of July decorating! I’ve got some tabletop ideas for you tomorrow!

I’d put these out for Memorial Day and leave them up through 4th of July. After working for a VA Hospital for 25 years, I have a heavy dose of patriotic running in me!
I leave them up for a long time too, Kathy! So fun in the summer!
Love all of your flag ideas, Lora! Thanks for sharing @Vintage Charm!
